THE RURAL HEALTH LINKED SECTORS
Presentation Overviews:
The Institute for Health System Transformation and Sustainability (IHSTS) presents the Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Network: Uniting communities, healthcare providers, and partners across British Columbia to support type 2 diabetes. The presentation will explain why the T2D Network exists, how it operates, what programs and initiatives it oversees, the learnings that have been acquired over the past ~two years of operations, and the value of including the Linked Sector group in our work.
Exploring the use of AI in health for rural and remote community members and patients: Introducing AiTECCC
What are rural and remote community members’ views on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health to support them to attain wellness, or address illnesses? AiTECCC is a collaborative initiative exploring how artificial intelligence and technology-enabled care can support equitable, community-informed health services in rural and remote settings. Our public engagement work centres on understanding and capturing the voices of patients, caregivers, and community members to ensure emerging AI and digital health approaches reflect local needs, values, and lived experiences. Through dialogues and small group discussions, we aim to understand what works, what concerns exist, and what conditions are needed for responsible and culturally safe use of AI and technology in care.
Note: The presentations start at the 9min mark after introductions
