Morris Ertman on how theatre transformed a tiny town into a cultural mecca!

Rosebud, Alberta, is a tiny prairie town of fewer than 150 souls. Yet thanks to its extraordinary cultural punch, it stands as a big league example of how the arts can transform small rural communities. Morris Ertman has served for the last 16 years as Artistic Director of the Rosebud Theatre — and operation that attracts over 40,000 guests to Rosebud every theatre season! In this talk delivered at the KEEPING IT RURAL 2017 conference hosted by SIBAC/BC Rural Centre, Morris explains how the Theatre — and the Rosebud School of the Arts — evolved, and describes their impact on the community and region.
